Something To Think About

I want you to think about some things for a moment, so relax and have a seat.

What if your existence truly had no meaning? What if, no matter how you hard you worked, in the end, you would eventually be forgotten? What would be the point of it all if there really is no glorious end?

Now take a deep breath and start thinking . . . What if this is heaven, right here? What if this is as good as it gets? What if I'm not being measured by what I'm doing, but by who I am? What if I'm not going anywhere, because I'm already where I need to be? What if the ends NEVER justify the means?

What are some of the things you thought about? I thought about being loved, loving others and loving yourself. I thought about those special moments I had where I could die and be gone forever, but that would be just fine because I would die surrounded in love. I thought about how there is never really answers, only questions, but that's okay too.

This is the root core of being one with the spirit. That no matter what happens, we will be okay. Because, there simply is no other way to be.

It's the kind of inner strength that no circumstance can touch. It's the epitome of good, the notion of belonging, whatever you wanna call it. But it's THERE, inside each and every one of us. This power is merely asleep in some and awake in others.

Let's take another deep breath and think about some more things.

What if we're not even judged by our choices in the afterlife? What if we all simply return as spirit energy and come back as a higher part of the whole? What if there is no divine punishment for humans who do wicked deeds? Or no rewards for those who do righteous ones. Would it even matter? Would we even care?

We all like to think about preparing goals for the future, but what if right now--at this very instant--this is the best circumstance that life will ever give us? What if how hard we're trying right now, is as hard as we'll ever need to try? What if all these things were true?

This exercise sheds away all the superficial things in our life, and helps us get to the very center of who we are as people. No rewards, no punishments. Just how we feel about others and how we feel about ourselves.

Maybe that's all there really is.
