21-year-old Sam Leonard is from Michigan, USA, and enjoys reading science fiction and writing about almost
anything. "My mom always told me that I picked up pencils and crayons before I learned how to crawl! "
Currently attending community college to receive his two-year degree in Liberal Arts, Sam says that college is very beneficial to him, due to the skyrocketing maturity levels compared to high school.
"I honor my intelligence because it's something that I have complete control over, nobody else can make me smarter or more ignorant. I'm proud to say that I'm currently a straight-A college student. "
Sam's two main mottoes in dealing with the many struggles in life are (1) to just be yourself and (2) treat others the way you want to be treated. He also believes it's important to face your fears no matter how hard it is.
"I enjoy studying spirituality because of my love for dreaming and dream interpretation. I believe dreams give us important messages and symbols, so we should study our dreams closely instead of lazily saying, That's
just a dream.
"I believe in honoring all forms of human rights -- from gay rights to women's rights to civil rights. And I'm strongly against violence. I don't care who throws the punch or who gets punched - nobody deserves to be a victim of violence and hatred.
"I chose to write about family and relationships because I feel we need more people my age demonstrating that we have the ability to create a productive family environment. Family has always been important to me -
because without my open minded and determined parents, I don't know where I'd be."
For fun, Sam likes role-playing games and just hanging out with friends and family. He reminds us that life may be short, but the happy moments are even shorter. Therefore, good times should always be treasured.
Sam is a staff writer for the Family & Relationships Channel.
